Idea Fair
Fall Fest 2020
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
At Champions Run, we love to bring people together. Though we were in a pandemic, we decided to continue on with this mission, but at a distance. At our first annual Fall Fest, we created a pumpkin patch atmosphere at Champions Run for our members and their guests, with fall foods (such as chili, turkey legs, pie, etc.), corn pits, duck races, inflatables, live music, and local vendors to showcase their fall products. We had a record number of people attend this event.
How was this idea implemented and what have been the club members' reactions?
This huge event was a hit for our members because of each departments communication and cooperation with one another. The event was held on our golf course, so our golf crew had to be prepared for the foot traffic; our kitchen staff had to coordinate what food to serve, when, and how much; our pool and fitness center had to work on recruiting summer staff to work this event, and much more. Our members were over the moon about this addition to our event schedule. It was a great opportunity to spend a Sunday afternoon outdoors with family and friends, in a fun atmosphere, where they could social distance and be cautious of the pandemic, while also being able to socialize.
