Idea Fair
Family Glamping in the Igloos
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
During COVID, igloo dining on our veranda became very popular. The igloos were such a huge hit in the winter months, the team wanted to find a unique way to repurpose them during the Summer. One demographic we really wanted to focus on was kids, and what kid doesn’t want to have a camp out on the golf course?! We ended up creating a Family Glamping night at the Club!
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The igloos were placed on the golf course near and around our Pavilion (remote bar and bathrooms) to serve the members overnight. Glampers grilled and assembled their dinner from a gourmet slider and s’mores station. Each igloo was supplied with a battery powered lantern in addition to a firepit for cooking, warmth, and storytelling. When families awoke the next morning, breakfast baskets were waiting for them filled with fresh juices, fruit, yogurt, and pastries. It was a fun night and each family created lasting memories. The kids think it’s awesome that they are the only members to spend the entire night at the club!
