Farmington Summer Olympics

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Timed to coincide with the closing ceremonies of the 2024 Summer Olympics, this event was designed to highlight Farmington’s sports and fitness facilities in a fun and interactive way. Kids competed in teams inspired by the five colors of the Olympic Rings, participating in a variety of events including tennis, golf, aquatics, relay races, and classic backyard games. The day culminated in a grand closing ceremony that celebrated the fun and camaraderie of the competition.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

This event was a collaborative effort across multiple departments, with managers and staff leading teams of kids to compete for gold medals. It showcased the Club’s diverse offerings in sports and fitness while providing an engaging and memorable experience for members. Over 40 kids participated in a full day of activities, including swimming, relay races, fitness challenges, golf, and tennis. The event was promoted as an opportunity to bring members together to celebrate the Olympics and engage in the Club’s athletic amenities. The response from members was overwhelmingly positive. Kids loved the variety of activities and the chance to compete in a fun, team-oriented setting, while parents appreciated the unique and active programming.
