Idea Fair
Festival of Lights
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
The Festival of Lights family gathering is a tradition at the Granite and signifies the kickoff to the holiday season each year. This event includes food, treats, family activities, and the annual lighting ceremony, where Members gather to cheer as we switch on the holiday lights throughout the clubhouse and grounds. In order to elevate the festive spirit and embrace the rich tapestry of cultures within our diverse member community and surrounding city, in 2023 the event was reimagined into a vibrant celebration of several festivals of light from around the world.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The implementation of the internship program at Santaluz, focuses on exploring the role of a Chief Operating Officer (COO), involves several key elements, each designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience for the interns:
One-on-One Mentorship from the COO, Russell Sylte: Interns receive personal guidance and insights from the COO himself. This mentorship allows them to learn directly from a seasoned professional, gaining insights into strategic decision-making, leadership challenges, and the nuances of the COO role.
Cross-Functional Collaboration with Various Teams and Departments: Interns are engaging across different departments within the club. This experience helps them understand how various functions within a club interact and collaborate, providing a holistic view of club operations.
Acquisition of Problem-Solving Skills through Hands-On Experience: By engaging in real-world tasks and challenges within the club, interns are developing critical problem-solving skills. This hands-on experience is crucial for understanding the practical aspects of managing a complex organization like a private club.
Opportunity to Network with Industry Professionals: The program offers networking opportunities with professionals in the industry. Such interactions are instrumental for professional growth, offering insights into industry trends and best practices, as well as establishing valuable connections for future career opportunities.
Extensive Exploration of Operational Facets within a Thriving Private Club Model: Interns gain in-depth knowledge of how each department contributes to the success of the club. This comprehensive exploration covers various aspects of club management, from daily operations to strategic planning and governance.
