Idea Fair
FiddleFest Music & Food Festival & Mixed Stix
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Fiddler’s prides itself on its support of worthwhile charities. Trustees and Staff, along with the membership are fully engaged. To this end, the club created two large and unique events as part of the many Fiddler’s Cares programs.
This was the 5th year for FiddleFest and our largest ever with nearly 1000 attendees at this outdoor music and food festival that featured headliner Lords of 52nd Street (Billy Joel’s original band) and 5 other bands as well as 7 food trucks and a Chef’s VIP tent. Mixed Stix also enjoyed its largest participation ever. Mixed Stix a club-wide initiative that takes place on one day and includes the most popular Pro-Am golf tournament in the state, a member-guest golf tournament, fly fishing competition, iron chef competition and tennis tournament.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
It is truly a team effort to host such large and successful events. Members look forward to and support both of these events by attending and donating. The reviews are always extremely positive. The staff loves these events as they are signature big events for the club (along with 4th of July and Fall Food & Wine Fest). They not only enjoy executing these two large and unique events but are proud to be part of the charitable cause as well.
Together these two events have raised over $500,000 for important charities including New Jersey Golf Foundation’s Military, Youth and Special Needs initiatives and Tri-County Scholarships that provides needed education and scholarships for at risk youth.
