Idea Fair
Fiddler’s Cocktail Menu
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Fiddler’s Elbow has a unique name, so we take every opportunity to capitalize on it. In our upscale dining venue, the Elbow Room, we offer our guests a unique selection of specialty cocktails created by our talented mixologist bartenders. The options are presented in a cocktail menu that is inspired by the different variations of our namesake instrument – the Fiddle.
Pages 1 and 2 feature a history of the violin, beginning in the mid-1500s and continuing into the 1800s. Page 3 is dedicated to the fiddle and the fun cocktails it inspires. Page 4 highlights the violin and its classically-inspired cocktails, including renamed versions of the Manhattan, Old Fashioned, Negroni & Sazerac. Page 5 chronicles the electric violin, and a future take on mixed drinks, including cocktails with strawberry lemon shrub, lychee liqueur & futuristic style of sangria.
By the end of the book, patrons have an appreciation for the Fiddler and its history, as well as the artistry that went into the selection of cocktails they have been presented.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
Designing the cocktail book has been both challenging and extremely fun. Once the design and drinks were created, it was very easy to print and offer the menus in our dining room. We've advertised the menu in our newsletter and social media. Membership loves the menu and some even took home the menu as a souvenir.
