Idea Fair
Five Farms Clubhouse Renovation
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
As one of a handful of private clubs in the nation to maintain two campuses along with a thriving and dedicated membership, the decision was officially made in early 2021 to grow our footprint in Baltimore County while maintaining a presence in Baltimore City’s Roland Park neighborhood. In September 2021, we broke ground on Phase 1 of our Lifestyle Facilities Master Plan.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
This year-long construction project focused on creating exemplary indoor and casual outdoor dining, exciting bar experiences, and a newly expanded kitchen. The clubhouse enhancements included: a new corner open porch dining and bar experience, new casual grill dining with a grand fireplace, coffered ceilings, dining tables, high tops, and soft seating, a new main bar with expanded seating, an expanded Terrace Room with glass NanaWall™, new casual entry foyer, conditioned wine room with a private dining experience, and conditioned wine and cigar lockers. The exterior enhancements included: a pedestrian courtyard and bag drop experience, rooftop terrace, new golf access drive circle drop-off area, and expanded porch area for outdoor dining.
Our Five Farms Golf, Fitness, Racquets, and Aquatics facilities remained operational during construction. We kept members updated about the Master Plan progress and updates through email blasts, push notifications, and text messages. Members could also subscribe to our blog for weekly updates, which included photos and videos that were also posted on our social media pages. Toward the end of construction, we intentionally kept the content minimal, so there was an element of surprise for our members. We held a Grand Reopening Ceremony for our newly renovated Five Farms clubhouse on September 10, 2022.
