Idea Fair
Flowers, Sweet Treats, Charcuterie & More!
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Country clubs became members’ safe haven during the pandemic. We had to be extra creative, innovative and resourceful. The question was "How can we make the holidays or event celebrations that much more specials?" With gathering restrictions and limited in person experiences, we decided to extend the experience beyond the confines of the club facility. We expanded all holiday and special event offerings to provide a variety of enhancements. Our club turned into a flower shop for Mother’s Day offering flower arrangements ranging in size, shape and design. For Valentine’s Day and special occasions, we turned into a chocolatier – offering carefully crafted truffles, chocolate covered strawberries, dessert samplers and baked goods. Charcuterie products and handcrafted boards were available for purchase from the club for holiday and all special celebrations. The availability and convenience of these offerings to the membership made the club so much more special and unique.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The Food and Beverage team worked together to obtain all necessary products to create and promote these special enhancements. All offerings were promoted through emails, social media and club newsletters. We sourced flowers from a local wholesale distributor and created all flower arrangements in house. The culinary team sourced slates for charcuterie boards along with artisanal meats, cheeses and many other accoutrements. Hand-crafted desserts were prepared in house and packaged carefully for pick-up and delivery.
Members continue to take advantage of all offerings for the various occasions and constantly share their excitement through Instagram and Facebook posts. They thoroughly enjoy the “one-stop" shop experience the club has created for them.
