Gingerbread House Drive-Thru

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

We brought the magic of the holidays to families at our Club with a Gingerbread Drive-Thru. This event let the holiday season sparkle, despite staffing challenges and the extra COVID-19 precautions that prevented us from holding our normal, in-person event.

We:

- Had members pre-order gingerbread kits online.

- Assembled the kits. (Ours included an assembled gingerbread mansion,

icing, and an array of toppings and decorations.)

- Decorated our pick-up location.

- Made it special - staff offered hot cocoa or sparkling cider for members

to enjoy on the drive home.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

COVID forced us to be creative with the way our events are traditionally run. While the in-person event could not happen, the Youth Department was still able to make it special and memorable for our members. Members were grateful for a fun alternative to the traditional decorating party.
