Gingerbread Houses To-Go

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Most clubs struggle to accommodate members for popular holiday events and one such event at CCV was the annual Gingerbread House Decorating Party. With the crowded holiday calendar and fully booked banquet spaces, we were only able to offer 90 spaces for this gingerbread and we always had a waiting list. Our solution was creating To-Go Kits for the members to do in their own homes at a time that suited them. In 2017, the Club supplied 180 Gingerbread House To-Go Kits, allowing us to triple the holiday fun while reducing the pressure of the early registration and making sure no member was “left out in the cold!”

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

This idea allows members who cannot participate at the club event the opportunity to enjoy this festive activity at home and with their families. These To-Go Kits contain an already iced-together house, more than 30 types of candy, icing bags, and a tablecloth to minimize the mess while they create a masterpiece. The members are grateful to have the same opportunity as those who participate in the party and some definitely prefer the option to take them home or give them as gifts.
