How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Granite Gear is our Club pro shop - but it’s so much more than a pro shop! Filled with premiere brands of athletic and leisure wear, unique gift ideas, and a collection of holiday items that are carefully planned and sourced a year in advance, we were left with a challenge this year when the Club closed before the holiday season started.

The store was completely filled with items, including a selection of holiday food items that had expiry dates. Without knowing when we might be able to reopen, we needed to move stock but we also wanted to offer convenient shopping options to Members for curbside pickup and delivery. If we could bring the store to them, it was a win all around.

This community themed video about Granite Gear was produced to promote the store and remind Members that while they couldn’t shop in person, the brands they loved and the holiday items they cherished were still available to them, and reminded them of the importance of the Granite community during the tough times.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Despite the Club closure, Granite Gear had successful holiday sales and we were able to move almost all of the holiday themed items. In addition, gift giving of athletic and leisure wear items was popular with Members who appreciated the convenience of shopping from home. As hoped, many items sold out during the month of December.

We also produced an online catalogue for Members to browse, and this piece was updated week-to-week letting Members know what items were still available.
