Idea Fair
Graniteville Miniature Village and Train
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Holiday traditions at the Granite Club have been long-standing, and have become cherished, annual events that our Members look forward to each year.
2020 presented challenges never before seen at our Club, so we decided to bring one of our most popular holiday highlights to our Members’ homes.
The Graniteville miniature village and train is set up at the Club each year to the delight of our Membership. With the Club closed in December as a result of COVID-19, we decided to take Graniteville to them in a way they have never experienced before.
With the village’s creator acting as narrator, we shot a moving, thoughtful video from a close perspective that showcases all of the things happening in our little holiday village. From ski hills to quarries, this beautiful piece brought the delight of our Club traditions to our Member families with important reminders of what the holidays mean to all of us, even in the midst of difficult, challenging times. How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
With almost 3,000 views from Members, and an additional 1,400 on LinkedIn, this was our most successful video launch to-date.
Member feedback was filled with gratitude, many telling us that they were moved to tears and citing the number of times they had viewed the short piece.
Through phone calls, emails, and in person feedback from Members picking up curbside dining offerings to enjoy at home, we received dozens of kind thank-yous.
