Hurricane Book

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The Hurricane Book is an internal tool used by the Staff Members and Management Team of St. Andrews Country Club and includes Hurricane Crisis Procedures for each department.

Included inside the Hurricane Book is:

  • A Color Coded System to represent the seriousness of the storm
  • A list of important numbers and an order of command chart
  • Each department has a page of procedures categorized by before, during and after the storm
  • The Hurricane Hotline phone numbers that members can call to find out details about the club and hours of operation.

This book has improved our operation because it gives each department a step-by-step guideline on what to do so they do not forget any detail. Everyone feels prepared and confident about what they need to do and take care of for their department.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

This idea is evaluated and updated every year by department heads and the General Manager.

The members don’t see the Hurricane Book because it is an internal tool but they are always so thankful and appreciative of the staff and the support the club offers to each member in an organized and calm manner.
