Idea Fair
Jewish Association for Residential Care
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Woodfield is proud to have officially partnered with JARC’s (Jewish Association for Residential Care) “Community Works” initiative to provide on-the-job skills training. JARC Florida provides programs and services to educate and empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The program, along with others like it, exists throughout the US. Woodfield was one of the first country clubs to participate with JARC Boca Raton, and several others have now followed.
One of the main objectives of the program is to help the individuals integrate into the work place. By gaining experience and integrating into the work place, they are better prepared to find employment. We are happy to announce that we’ve formally hired three JARC participants, and we look forward to our continued partnership with the program.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
Beginning in February 2017 and continuing today, we have several colleagues from JARC join us each week. These colleagues provide support in our culinary and pastry departments.
