Junior Aquatics Program

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Our Junior Aquatics Programs are a highlight of our summer. These teens build a community each summer and these friendships last lifetimes. We give them leadership opportunities and specific events to help prepare them for their first job experiences and feel welcome at The PGCC.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

This program is open to 13-14 year olds to become juniors coaches and junior lifeguards each summer. They assist with practices and and swim meets, learn first aid and emergency skills, attend social events, all of which leads them to possible employment when they turn 15. Our member families love these programs and we have seen many siblings make their way through this program. Alumni often comment on how grateful they were to have a community in their teen years at our club and how they wished it could have lasted longer!
