Idea Fair
Junior Programs
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
In 2015 the Club introduced a program to attract new members under 40 years of age. The program has been highly successful so it became necessary to expand the activities for children. The activities in the past were limited to junior golf, a few holiday gatherings and the use of the swimming pool. The expansion of the programs has created a better feeling of community for families and children. With engaged families the Club has become much more active which in turn has made the Club more appealing to prospective members that are younger.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
For the past few summer seasons the Club employed a intern as a Junior Activities Coordinator. With the increase in activities and participation the Club now employs a year-round Junior Activities Coordinator. Additionally, a New Vines Committee was formed with members 45 years of age and younger to Chair specific events, provide input to management and promote participation. The members reactions can easily be gauged by the number increasing participation. Each event has continue to grow in popularity as well as providing for new events and programs to be introduced. In 2018 the Club expects to have a dock build on the river, will add family bocce ball, a summer sports camp for the older children, Pickle ball and PGA Junior League Golf.
