Idea Fair
Kids Art Camp
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Art camp was designed for kids who may not want to participate in traditional sports at the club. It allows for an expressive alternative and engages kids who may be interested in the arts. When designing this camp, we wanted to make sure the kids artwork would be able to be displayed around the club. Projects include tie dye shirts, melting crayon canvases, destination arrows, and surfboard painting!
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
Our pool cafe and lifeguards got together to help with camp. All activities were done outside near the pool so parents could sit back and relax while their kids participated in the activities. Crafts were purchased at a local crafts shop with minimal investment. We shaped all the destination arrows and surfboards in house. It was a fun 4 week (once a week) camp for both our staff and the kids! The kids projects become an instagram photo hot spot for our members!
