How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The Tennis Department at Army Navy Country Club has initiated a number of programs that have had a very beneficial environmental impact. These have included upgrading all lights in the clubs 6 court indoor tennis center to LED resulting in a +50% reduction in electricity costs (+$40,000/year) and improved play ability of the courts. Secondly, a tennis ball recycling program has resulted in 10,000 less tennis balls going into landfills each year. Thirdly, the club achieved a 60% water usage reduction by installing a HydroCourt Underground Irrigation System on its 26 outdoor clay courts.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Theses programs have been successfully implemented with the support of the club's members and resulted in ANCC winning the USTA's Green Facility award. The club's members continually remind the tennis team of their pride in belonging to such a forward looking operation.
