Idea Fair
Loft Leagues
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
BCC hosted our first annual winter Golf Leagues in The Loft (a state-of-the-art golf instruction teaching facility equipped with two golf simulators). This allowed members to keep their game sharp during the off-season months and have some friendly competition. Between our first and second sessions, which took from November through February, we had 114 ladies and gentlemen enjoy the camaraderie with their fellow members in the comforts of 70-degree temperatures, while it was 20 to 30 degrees outside. Our Golf and Food & Beverage Teams worked together to administer the league while also providing food and beverages each week.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
Implementation of the Loft Leagues was simple as we needed to provide an avenue for members to keep engaged with the sport of golf as well as a recreational use. Utilizing our two golf simulators and providing a social environment for members to enjoy food and beverage was a minimal investment as the space was already appropriate with furniture utilized from other outlets or storage. The leagues also provided camaraderie within the membership while increased F&B sales. Promoting the leagues, a couple months ahead, ensured we had a consistent group of members who wanted to participate and build up excitement within other members.
