Mack Ferguson Golf Facility

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

In January of 2025, we unveiled our new Mack Ferguson Golf Facility and demolished the previous cart barn. The new golf facility holds a fleet of 75 golf carts and storage for 800 golf bags. It also includes a laundry room, a caddy lounge, office and a cart service station with air pump, pressure washer, ball washer, heaters during cold months and fans during warm months. Our golf team’s operation is far more efficient as the member’s golf bags and everything the team needs to maintain the golf carts are now under one roof. In the new facility, golf team members also have a streamlined process for maintaining golf towels as laundry was previously done in a different building than where the carts were stored. Additionally, caddies did not have a distinct space to gather, but they now have a personalized lounge with ample seating, a TV and a coffee machine.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Multiple committees and the CCC board of governors planned, implemented and executed the development of the golf facility renovation. The previous cart barn was located beside the first fairway, so post-demolition members now have an open view of the entire front nine when teeing off on the first hole. The new golf facility was announced to our members to honor our longest tenured teammate in Charlotte Country Club history, Mack Ferguson. Mack is currently on the golf operations team and celebrated his 70th anniversary at CCC on January 1st, 2025. Many members grew up with Mack and have known him for their whole lives. On January 17th we commemorated the opening of the facility with a plaque unveiling and a celebration of Mack’s amazing milestones- including his 90th birthday!
