Idea Fair

Mental Health Therapists

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

We deeply value the mental well-being of Baltimore Country Club staff members. Recognizing the unique challenges that come with working in the hospitality industry, along with the different personal struggles that our team members may face, we have partnered with Towson Mental Health to provide therapy services for all staff.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

In April 2024, our Human Resources Team sent out an email to all staff members announcing the availability of mental health therapy services. This email included a link to a dedicated BCC webpage, where staff members can learn more about this benefit with FAQs and book therapy sessions. We also communicated this information through the video boards in the staff breakrooms and in our staff monthly digital newsletter Park & Farms.

Offering up to eight 60-minute sessions per week, our staff members can book their therapy appointments with either Hillary or Alyssa through telehealth, at Towson Mental Health, or on-site at BCC. We cannot answer how many staff members utilize this service due to HIPAA laws, but we can note that there has been a waitlist multiple times for appointments since its introduction. We have received positive feedback from staff members about the benefits of therapy and how it has helped them.

Staff Testimonials

“Everyone that I’ve spoken to is so grateful to have it as an option, whether it’s for long term issues, or a sudden stress in their life. From grieving, navigating family problems, or a financial crisis, it’s proven to be a wonderful resource for people.”

“The therapy has made me feel more independent and empowered as a person. When I have a hard time I know there is a space for me to freely voice however I’m feeling, it makes it easier to communicate with loved ones and remind myself that not everything needs to stay stuck in my head. Sometimes I will talk to friends about therapy being a free benefit from the Club and they are blown away, I am so lucky to have mental health so accessible.”
