Merry Grinchmas

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Merry Grinchmas was a delightful addition to Farmington’s holiday calendar for 2024, inspired by the Dr. Seuss classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This drop-off program for children ages 4 and up gave parents the opportunity to enjoy relaxing evenings out while their children experienced a fun and unique holiday event. The program featured an interactive scavenger hunt, dinner, arts and crafts, and dessert—all centered around the Grinch, played by a staff member. The event added variety to the Club’s holiday offerings while creating joyful memories for families.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The event was designed to engage children in a playful holiday adventure. The Grinch “stole” dessert from the kids’ dinner, prompting them to embark on a scavenger hunt throughout the Club to retrieve their cookies. Stopping at four different locations, the children raced to solve clues and eventually found the Grinch—and their dessert! The program was supported by enthusiastic staff, who helped create a magical atmosphere for the kids. Both parents and children loved the event, with parents appreciating a well-earned evening off and kids enjoying the excitement of the hunt and meeting the Grinch. The program was a hit with staff as well, who embraced the holiday spirit while creating a memorable experience for members. Merry Grinchmas has quickly become a favorite, promising to return as a cherished holiday tradition at Farmington.
