Idea Fair
New Shared Member Space
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
A trend that was gaining traction before the pandemic was the Club as a place to work, like the WeWork concept. The pandemic caused greater need for Club members to have a space to use for personal or business tasks. Cosmos Club decided to transform its business center located in an auxiliary building of the Club to a vibrant and collaborative workspace.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The Hillyer House Business Center was refurbished and reimagined into a more cohesive and welcoming shared member space. The new configuration includes three dedicated cubicles, three comfortable chairs with attached computer table, a collaborative work table with four chairs and two "modern" phone booths. The phone booths are ideal for private phone or Zoom calls. Members have been thrilled to have this new amenity, a new space for the Club community and one that addresses the "third place" concept.
