Idea Fair
Nominee Social
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
As CCV navigated a waitlist for the first time in 15 years, we recognized that it is important to keep the nominees engaged and feeling appreciated. We now host a Nominee Social twice a year that invites nominees and their primary sponsors over to our Westhampton Clubhouse for a cocktail reception. To introduce the nominees to staff activities around the Club, we set up different “activity stations” for a more hands-on approach.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The reaction has been positive, particularly with the primary sponsors who are shepherding their nominees through a longer process. The primary sponsors appreciate having a Club-hosted event for their nominees, and both parties enjoy getting to meet other primary sponsors and nominees who are on the waitlist as well.
The nominees feel like there is an event to look forward to during their nomination process, which helps us keep them invested in the process. If another Club finds itself on a waitlist, it is important to find ways to keep the nominees engaged and excited about the membership access ahead. Waiting can be hard to do, and letting a nominee “feel like a member” before they have been elected can be impactful.
