Idea Fair
OpenTable Chit Presenter
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
OpenTable is the online reservation platform that the Farmington Grill uses to create dining reservations. The platform allows us to store member information such as member numbers, phone numbers, table preferences, allergies, special occasions, and other information to help create a personalized dining experience.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
When a reservation is sat through OpenTable, the chit printer next to the host stand prints a small piece of paper with all of the member's information. After the reservation is seated, the hostess passes the piece of paper off to the server. This way, the server is able to greet the table by name and never has to ask the table for their member number. This creates a much more personalized and inviting experience.
Farmington is a large club with a significant nonresident membership base. Using OpenTable and the chit printer allows us to give nonresident members the same personalized touch we provide to our regular resident members. Our entire membership has had a great reaction to this system. When they are greeted by the hostess, the members love that the hostess knows to take them to their favorite table in the dining room. Members feel special knowing that we have all of their preferences saved in our system.
