Paddle to Pints

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Charlottesville is well known for its local breweries and outdoor recreational activities. We combined a passion for the two in our well-received Paddle to Pints program—providing members with a chance to enjoy craft beer and a memorable kayaking adventure!

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

After meeting at the Club, members boarded our Farmington shuttle bus and were taken to the Rivanna River to begin their journey. Participants were provided with kayaks and were led down the river by Farmington’s Youth Activities Manager Paul Shockley. After enjoying a relaxing time on the water, members capped off their evening with craft beer and local food from Three Notch’d Brewing Co. The event was highly successful! All ages were represented on the trip (from 22 years old to 77). We were even joined by a nonresident couple who signed up for the Paddle to Pints to program to celebrate their anniversary.
