Pastry Holiday Pop-Up
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
The concept of a Pastry Holiday Pop-Up emerged as an opportunity to introduce our members to the newest holiday creations, complementing our traditional pastry offerings. This idea had significantly enhanced operations at Congressional Country Club in the following ways:
- Boosting Revenue and Member Engagement as our Pastry Holiday Pop-Up offered our members exclusive, seasonal treats, which boosted the revenue through pre-orders and day-of sales . We sold out of our mini cakes and peppermint bark and got preorders too.
- Showcasing Culinary Talent
The pop-up highlighted the skill and creativity of my pastry team, reinforcing the club’s reputation for excellence in culinary arts. - Members get to interact with me and my team which help in building connections and enhancing their experience.
- Building Member Traditions Unique offerings, such as signature holiday pastries and branded macaron and chocolate boxes, can become annual traditions for members.
- Minimizing Waste and Maximizing Resources: By producing items in a pop-up setting, I can better plan inventory and production, minimizing waste during busy seasons and cross-utilizing ingredients between the pop-up and other menus ensures cost efficiency.
- Marketing and Visibility
A well-branded pop-up can extend the club's appeal, especially if members share their experiences on social media, showcasing the club as a vibrant and dynamic community hub. Promoting the event internally and through newsletters fosters excitement and member participation.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
We set up the pop-up near a high-traffic area during a high volume events: Holly Jolly events, and our annual Golf sale.
We Incorporated themed decor to create a festive ambiance that enhances the overall holiday atmosphere.
We promoted the event internally through flyers and newsletter.
Our members were extremely excited for the idea and alot of them just came to the club to check our pop up. We sold out of of alot of our items making a total revenue of $6000 for 3 pop ups. Alot of our members bought our branded macarons and chocolate to use as stocking stuffers and also as gifts to work colleagues and teachers while others bought our mini cakes and Penattone to serve them as a dessert for holiday parties they are going to.
