Idea Fair
Patio Furniture Hibernation
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Our patio furniture hibernation enhances our off-season view for membership when the patio is not in use during our winter months. It not only keeps the patio clean and free from patio coverings when dining indoors looking out at the patio but increases the longevity of the furniture. The furniture is stored in a sea container on the club property for easy access to store for the winter and for spring retrieval.
Shrink-wrapping helps non-movable items remain clean and free of debris and damage. Our large patio bar keeps the wood surfaces and nickel footrails in top condition when we are ready to open the outdoor dining spaces. This also saves time in setting up with very little cleaning.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
After our club’s renovation in 2021-2022, the outdoor dining area was an extension of our club’s investment and an extremely popular dining area. The members love and appreciate utilizing this space during the season and enjoy the views from inside dining when there is no furniture. It has been very positive as it appears clean, orderly, and well-kept. Members especially enjoy the area when hanging lights are on during the off-season.
