How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Our goal was to integrate one of our newest racquet sports, POP Tennis, with a club member favorite, craft beers. During the event, members were split into groups - one sampling a variety of local and nationally-known craft beers and learning from the bartender about the attributes of each brew while another played a short round of POP Tennis. Throughout the event, members came on and off the court until each had an opportunity to both play POP and enjoy the hops.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Social events are an important element of our programming and new events/ideas are crucial to maintaining interest. POP & Hops has allowed us to continue to expose our membership to a growing racquet sport while adding a fun twist of providing unique, and in many cases local, beers for the members to try. We like this particular sport because it levels the playing field between players with plenty of racquets sports experience and those with none.
