Reindeer Run

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

140 members joined us for our first Reindeer Run two days before Christmas consisting of live Christmas characters along one of our golf nines! Santa driving around on a golf cart, The Grinch hiding behind trees and popping out, toy soldiers marching, and Olaf & the Gingerbread man all waved to people as they went by! Candy canes & fruit snacks were tossed out by elves, and there was even a fake snowball fight near the end with cotton snow balls. At the end of the race, they were served hot cocoa by Buddy the Elf and fresh gingerbread donuts!

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Each member received a Reindeer Run t-shirt and reindeer antlers headband. We spaced costumed staff along the course to maximize the experience and members could not believe all the characters they saw. Families were raving about how hilarious The Grinch was and how much fun the snowball fight was once they finished. Everyone expressed that this fun run needed to be an annual event.
