Sandwedges Menu
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Our golf course snack bar/restaurant, Sandwedges, needed more menu variety to satisfy our golfers. The challenge with enhancing the menu was a lack of space for equipment, no hood system for grills, fryers, etc. as well as the need for very fast paced food execution. The Merrychef® oven helped solve these obstacles with convection cooking, air impingement and microwave speed. The oven has allowed us to offer items we never thought would be possible in a golf course style restaurant.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The Merrychef® oven has a small footprint, making it ideal for the small kitchen at Sandwedges. We were able make room for the oven by removing our hot dog roller and cheese melter.
The Sandwedges menu was expanded to include a more robust hot food section, featuring omelets, pizza, chicken wings and burgers. This has enhanced the golf experience by providing golfers with their favorite hot selections at one convenient location. Members are very pleased with the new offerings.
