Idea Fair
Santa Brunch
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
At Hidden Valley Country Club, we kick off the holiday season with our annual Santa Brunch. With hot chocolate in hand, members, guests, and children wait near the golf course for Santa and Mrs. Claus to arrive by helicopter. Families have the opportunity to take photos with Santa, Mrs. Claus and Mr. Grinch! For brunch, we serve an elaborate spread including fresh seafood, prime rib, breakfast items, cheese boards, chocolate fondue, and plenty of desserts and sweet treats. This year, we added a cookie decorating and "Letters to Santa" station for the children. Since the addition of Santa arriving by helicopter, Santa Brunch has become one of the most highly anticipated events of the year at Hidden Valley Country Club.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
We were looking for a way to enhance a normal tradition that is very common at several country clubs. To elevate this event, we added an exciting element - Santa and Mrs. Claus arriving to brunch by helicopter. We wanted to make Santa Brunch a memorable experience, so we also added a cookie decorating station, a letter to Santa station, and other creative activities to entertain our guests. Since the addition of the helicopter arrival, we have doubled participation with an event that now hits capacity and attracts some of our older members and their grandchildren as well!
