SantaCon Charity Golf Tournament

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The SantaCon Golf Tournament was a huge success. Over 70 players braved the December weather in festive attire to raise money for Squanathon and compete for the St. Nick Cup. Squanathon’s mission is to provide financial and emotional assistance to local families affected by pediatric cancer or other serious illnesses. Volunteers from the organization joined us to spread their mission statement and tell stories of how their work has helped the community. Together, we raised over $10,000 in monetary and toy donations.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The event was very well received by the general membership. We created a flyer inviting all golf members to join us for the day and the Golf Staff took reservations and created teams. The local newspaper, The Coast Star, showed up to document the event, and members that weren't in attendance showed their support on Instagram and through monetary donations.
