Sausage & Pipers Invitational

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The Spring Brook Country Club "Sausage and Pipers" tournament was held on Saturday, September 30th. This annual Member Event is a friendly competition between Italian and Irish (honorary as well as natural) with the focus on camaraderie, friendship and club spirit. It has become one of the most popular events in the club.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Over 100 members participated in the tournament. Food stations were set up in various locations throughout the day with variety of ethnic foods. Live music filled the air (each team had a corner with duo musicians) and the two teams were cheered on by local cheerleaders as they prepared to compete for this year's title and the right to claim the trophy until next competition. About 50 family members joined the participants for the evening reception. Guinness and Peroni beers were featured. The members also enjoyed a complimentary cigar station.
