Seaside Summer Social

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

While we have many smaller events for employees throughout the year, we spend one Summer Monday closing the entire club to members and let employees enjoy the property! The team has access to our pool and lounge deck, all racquets courts, the golf course, and our Riverhouse restaurant and event space. We encourage employees to not only attend but to bring a guest or their whole family. In addition to all of the amenities, we bring in a DJ, Caricature Artist, Photobooth, Tarot Card Reader and more to entertain every employee, young or old, new or seasoned. We’ve even seen some belly flop competitions break out at the pool in which we still laugh about to this day.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

RCC’s Summer BBQ has been a tradition for years and something our employees look forward to every summer. We love most having employees bring their kids and grandkids year after year and watching them grow! The thought process behind having this event at the club instead of an external venue is to give the team a chance to enjoy the environment they work so hard to create and preserve while channeling a feeling of pride and a deeper, personal connection to the club.
