Idea Fair
Seasonal
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
We all know that at a country club, Member Dining has lots of challenges, but none greater than not being able to have an identity, because as clubs we have to have something and be something for everyone all of the time.
Every Seasonal Menu Switch (every 2 months) members are asked to submit their favorite recipes. We then have the F&B Committee chose two for that menu cycle and the Chef then puts his twist on them.
At the end of the menu cycle, the item that sold the most gets place on the next seasonal cycle as one of the items, and the member that submitted it gets dinner for two and bragging rights!
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
Honestly, this concept came jokingly out of frustration, with lots of opinions on how and what the menu should be, but we found a way to take that frustration and turn it into a fuel to really get this concept going and be able to use it as a way to listen to the membership and give them what they want, but still be able to give the culinary staff the opportunity to do what they do!
It has led to the next plans of taking these recipes, mixed with our Chef's favorite dishes, and some of ECC's classic staple dishes and to turn it into a cookbook for Members to purchase hopefully ext year at this time.
Members have really embraced this idea and competition amongst friends isn't limited to just the course or racket facilities anymore!
