Idea Fair

Shoes for the Shoeless

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Shoes for the Shoeless was an incredible collaboration between Farmington Country Club, the Salvation Army, and a local Charlottesville running store. Through this event, our members donated over 55 pairs of new and lightly used shoes, which were distributed to schools, hospitals, and even local jails to help those in need. The initiative was highlighted by a segment on our local NBC news affiliate, and members were thrilled to contribute to such a meaningful cause.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

We launched a simple but impactful campaign encouraging members to donate shoes that were no longer being used. Many people purchase shoes online but often don’t get around to returning them when they don’t fit, leaving them to gather dust in closets. Shoes for the Shoeless gave members an easy way to clear some space while giving back to the local community. The response from both members and staff has been overwhelmingly positive, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to making a difference in the lives of those around us.
