Smash & Bash Racquets Banquet

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Over the past several years, BCC has seen growth in our Racquets program, which includes tennis, pickleball, squash, and paddle tennis. To celebrate the on and off-the-court season accomplishments of our members, we introduced Smash & Bash, a fun and casual party with food, games, and prizes to celebrate all things racquets.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

We recognize several of our members for their on-the-court contributions over the past year. Each sport has three award categories: Most Valuable Player, Most Improved, and BCC Racquets Ambassador. The last award recognizes a member who has voluntarily acted in a racquet sport that has served the Club and its members. The candidate for this award has assisted in developing growth and member engagement in the sport. Captaincy, match arrangement, court reservations, league involvement, tournament participation, event contribution, and committee involvement are all considered.

Last year, our Racquets Committees nominated fellow members for these awards, but this year members can nominate themselves or others for them.
