Staff Appreciation Fund

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Each fall, Members are encouraged to contribute to the Staff Appreciation Fund in recognition of the excellent service staff provides throughout the year. The Club is a non-tipping environment, so this is a way for Members to say thank you each year.

Traditionally, the Granite News magazine carries the year-end thank you message from employees, expressing their gratitude for Members’ generosity.

This year, we needed to think of a new way of thanking Members. With email being the main mode of communication during the pandemic, we were concerned the messaging may not convey gratitude to a level that would help Members understand what their participation meant to the employees.

We decided to produce a Tik Tok style video to show in words, with the help of happy staff members, what their generosity meant during these very hard times.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

We received emails and phone calls from Members who were appreciative of the messaging, many moved to tears.

This quote from one of our Members sums up the overall sentiment:
