Idea Fair
Staff Curling Night
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Our staff works tirelessly year-round, but our holiday months (November and December) are especially busy and require long hours. We wanted to give our staff members a unique experience to let them know how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication to Champions Run. We organized an evening out with all of our winter staff members that included a nice dinner with complementary pizza, fries, and beverages; afterwards, our staff learned the basics of curling at Baxter Arena in Omaha, NE. This was especially awesome because the week prior, Baxter Arena hosted the United States Olympic Trials for curling.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
It is relatively simple and monetarily feasible to reserve a couple of tables and have food prepared, as well as book a few hours at the curling rink. But, this gesture means the world to our staff and lets them know how much we care about them and their wellbeing. Curling is something most people don’t have the opportunity to try out and practice, so we are glad to be able to give them this experience with their fellow coworkers.
