Idea Fair

Staying Active During a School Holiday

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Last winter during COVID, we were still looking to keep our Junior Members engaged during an especially challenging time for children.  We created a new (mostly outdoor) event that could keep them active while school was closed on President's Day.  The Score, Serve & Skate was held in the afternoon and allowed kids to come out to play Squash, Paddle Tennis and Ice Skate at the Club.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

We tasked our Paddle Professional, Squash Professional and Fitness Center Manager, along with our Member Events Manager to coordinate grouping the children by age/friends and then they each took turns at the three locations.  Each sport was designated by colored balloon and also had their own snack or treat.  The kids enjoyed being able to safely get outdoors on a chilly February day with their friends and the parents got to enjoy their afternoon as well!
