Stories & S'mores

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

This past Christmas, Farmington introduced a new holiday event called Stories & S'mores. Families were invited to the Club where they were treated to festive holiday stories and a chance to make s’mores over our outdoor firepit.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Youth Programs Manager Paul Shockley—dressed as “Paul the Elf”—read Christmas stories to children then led families outside to make s’mores and enjoy the uncharacteristically warm December weather. We also provided special Farmington-branded “Let It Snow” pillowcases for kids to decorate with fabric markers and take home to use.

This delightful event, perfect for members of all ages, helped kick start the season by getting families into the Christmas spirit. The members enjoyed it and asked that we offer it again in 2022—a few parents even requested to have it every Friday in December!
