Sugar Rush: Traffic Speed Campaign
Winner
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
During the morning commute, many vehicles enter the club, some of them forgetting about the posted speed limit of 15 km/h. The Parking Services Team created a digital signage campaign to remind drivers to slow down and watch for pedestrians and cyclists on club property. In addition to the signage, a speed radar sign displayed the speed of each approaching vehicle. Drivers following the speed limit were stopped and given a treat. Those driving over the limit were stopped and given a friendly reminder to please slow down, with the promise of a treat if they followed the speed limit in future.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The idea received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with many members thanking the Parking Services Team for running the reminder campaign. Those driving faster than the speed limit were thankful as well; and some even exited the garage and drove back in while doing the speed limit to receive their treat. Members expressed appreciation for how the message was conveyed in a fun and creative way. For the Parking Services Team, seeing members smiling so early in the morning was the only treat we needed!
