Summer Solstice Celebration

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

To kick off the summer in style, Farmington celebrated the Summer Solstice with a lively and interactive event by the pool. Our Poolside Grill food and beverage team, led by the assistant manager and two summer interns, created a vibrant pop-up station on the pool deck. The highlight was a gourmet lemonade stand featuring fresh fruit, homemade lemonade, creative recipes, and refreshing spirits for adults. Complementing the drinks, the back-of-house team set up a “Build Your Own” poke bowl and sushi burrito station, providing members with a fresh and unique dining option. The event also featured upbeat music, festive decorations, and an undeniable buzz of excitement that set the tone for the summer season.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The planning and execution were spearheaded by Ally Romeo, assistant manager in development, alongside the Poolside Grill summer interns and Farmington Chefs Michael Matarazzo and Charles Figouera. Together, they brainstormed ideas that stood out from the usual poolside fare of chicken tenders and burgers, resulting in an interactive and elevated experience. Members loved the offerings, with many requesting a return of the lemonade stand later in the summer—a request that was happily fulfilled. The celebration was a resounding success, and with such positive feedback, the Summer Solstice Celebration is set to become an annual tradition at Farmington.
