Summer Solstice Picnic

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Summer is our busiest season and favorite time of year, so why not capitalize on that and celebrate Summer Solstice (the longest day of the year)! The Summer Solstice Picnic was a hit and is our newest annual tradition that we look forward to building on for years to come.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

We hired a musician to come play and set him up on the 18th fairway which is located directly outside the Clubhouse. We invited members to come enjoy a beautiful evening at the Club while listening to live music. The event was complimentary and we encouraged members to bring their own picnic blanket and/or picnic basket to enjoy. We also offered four different types of picnic baskets that members could preorder which was very popular and setup a member bar for those that wanted a beverage. The weather was absolutely perfect and the sunset that night was incredible. When it started getting dark, we brought out sparklers for all the kids to enjoy. The night was truly magical and everyone had a great time!
