The 2024 Summer Training Initiative, branded as “Learn. Give. Grow.,” has significantly enhanced operations at The Club at Admirals Cove by fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
The initiative’s focus on four key pillars—Leadership, Volunteering, Personal Development, and Safety—has improved team cohesion, increased employee engagement, and promoted professional growth. This holistic approach addresses staff needs based on survey feedback, enhancing operational efficiency and workplace satisfaction.
Offering diverse sessions like public speaking, CPR certification, mindset workshops, and club governance training ensures that employees are equipped with skills that directly contribute to improved member experiences and overall club success.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The initiative was implemented by carefully analyzing employee survey results to identify needs, designing tailored programs, and offering flexible, engaging sessions. Key highlights include leadership-focused Lunch & Learns with senior staff, hands-on safety training, personal wellness workshops, and volunteer opportunities that connect staff with the broader community. A structured “graduation” incentive for completing programs further motivated participation. Staff who met all program requirements were celebrated during a special graduation luncheon and were formally recognized in front of the Board of Governors, highlighting their dedication and achievements.
Member reactions have been overwhelmingly positive. Members appreciate the visible improvement in staff confidence, professionalism, and enthusiasm. They have noticed better service interactions and a stronger sense of community at the club. This initiative has not only benefited employees but also reinforced the club’s reputation as a leader in fostering a positive workplace culture.
