How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The Youth Sunshine Committee was established to help our youth activities team members feel special on significant occasions like birthdays and life milestones, as well as to provide support to one another during difficult times and put together team-building activities. This has developed our culture into more of a family environment, allowing the staff to build trust, have empathy, and support each other to do better.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

Every month, the Sunshine Committee gets together to send out a letter to their teammates asking if anyone would like to contribute to their birthdays, celebrations, or any other occasion. The employees running this would then take the cash collected to purchase items from the employees’ wishlist. The entire team would then get together and surprise them on their special day! This was a way to really have our staff feel appreciated and, of course, thought of. The Sunshine Committee allows our employees to have a say in the way they get recognized, celebrated, and, of course, how they build culture amongst themselves. This program enhances our outstanding staff, leading to increased happiness among both staff and members!
