How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The idea has reduced energy costs by over $40K per year and greatly reduced long-term maintenance costs. Moreover, the idea has led to awards and recognition in industry magazines including USTA National Facility of the Year Award and “Green Facility” of the Year as well as being recognized in Tennis Industry Magazine; strengthening the Club’s brand as an industry leader, improving relations with the local community, and increasing member satisfaction in terms of fiscal and environmental responsibility while also improving the tennis playing experience.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The project was implemented over a week during non-peak usage of the facility to limit impact on operations. ANCC also coordinated with the Commonwealth of Virginia and Dominion Power to receive a $30K rebate for implementing a power saving upgrade. Membership has applauded the project in terms of contributing to protecting the environment, saving energy costs, and improving play and aesthetic conditions of the facility.
