Idea Fair
Tennis Drill Book
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
The Drill Book is a collection of lesson plans consisting of tennis drills, games, and activities that has been created by the Racquet Sports staff. This document is meant to be enhanced over time as a knowledge base of ideas that all teaching professionals may draw from as they create lesson rotation plans.
When teaching the same clients multiple lessons over the course of a week, it can be a challenge to keep the teaching process fresh and interesting. The Drill Book has become a valued tool that our teaching professionals reference as they plan their daily lessons.
It also ensures that each coaching professional, regardless of their seniority, is continually updated with the most popular teaching drills and best on-court practices that will continually engage our membership.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The Drill Book was created by compiling our teaching professional’s favorite lesson plans into one living document that is stored on our Club’s shared computer network drive. It serves as a central source of information that all teaching staff may reference and update.
It has given our teaching professionals a wider set of tools in which to tailor a lesson plan to a client’s particular set of skills, and our Members appreciate the variety of lessons that we offer.
