Texas Independence Party!

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Throughout the great State of Texas, Texans are certain to find an excuse for a great party, especially when it comes to celebrating Texas Independence Day!

Each February, River Oaks Country Club pulls out all the stops in honor of this Texas tradition with a Texas Independence Party (TIP), bringing headliner Country Music acts to the Club for a private members-only concert. Past Headliners include: Pat Green, Lee Ann Womack, Big & Rich, Wynona Judd, Clay Walker, Clint Black, Tracy Lawrence and Eli Young Band. Not to mention, the ever-popular after party featuring Texas Country music legends like Gary P. Nunn and Cory Morrow.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

A large tent is constructed on the event lawn, or in case of rain, the Ballroom becomes an intimate honky-tonk! The event takes place just a week before the world renowned Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo kicks into full gear. This event helps to set the mood for a fun few weeks of Rodeo season in Houston.

Texas cuisine punctuates each dining area, while Texas craft beer and liquor flows from each bar, and the Western regalia is donned in full force from staff to members! Each year, anywhere from 700-1,000 members attend this great event. TIP is the ultimate Texas affair!
